In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.
With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move and that one of their own has betrayed them.
Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will; the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

The view of a book addict:

After reading the first book, I couldn’t wait to read this one. I love the mortal instruments series but this one is my favourite. I love all of it, the setting in victorian England, the characters and the story.
At first I had to get into the story just like the first book but after reading two chapters I was hooked again. I couldn’t put the book away and I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I really loved the story, it has everything a good book needs, great characters, exciting story and a love triangle. I even believe this book was better than the first one.

The verdict of a book addict:

I love this book and I love this series, I can’t wait to read what’s going to happen next.

They pretend to be students at it. And they’re using their influence to recruit smart, rich students – aka ‘bleeders’ – to their own cause. What is that cause? April isn’t sure. But she knows they killed a rock star for it, and innocents who got too close to the truth. One of them almost killed her. But that’s nothing to what’s coming next. Gabriel, her kinda-boyfriend, is dying and unless April can find a cure then not only is she going to be boyfriendless, she’s also going to lose one of her major allies in the school. And she really needs allies. Because it turns out April has an ability of her own, one that could prove lethal to the ‘Suckers’ who’ve taken over the school. If any of them figure out what she is, then losing her boyfriend will be the least of her problems

I loved the first book in this series, the whole vampire story and the fact that it was set in England. So I was really looking forward to the second book and I have to say it did not dissapoint me.
I really liked this story as well, I just couldn’t put the book down and I wanted to know how it would end. The ending makes me want to read more about what’s going to happen next.

Great second book in a series, I hope there will be more books in this series.

Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Let me start by saying that I love the writing style of this book, it’s just amazing. You have to get used to it the first couple of pages but once you are it’s beautiful. I was really looking forward to reading this book because I believed it would be an amazing book. And it was, it’s a great story that grips you and just spits you out at the end of the book.
After reading the last page you can’t help but wonder what’s going to happen in the next book, I loved the characters, all of them even the bad ones. You get a little glimpse of all of them in this book and of course you get the chance to get to know the main characters of the book.

The verdict of a book addict:

Great story, I loved the characters, the way the words were used and how the ending keeps you on the edge of your seat for more!

The view of a book addict:

It’s been a while for me that I couldn’t put away a book, but this book was really hard to put down. The story sucks you in and won’t let you go even after you finish the book.
The main character of the book isn’t a typical popular girl, she is a loner and doesn’t have any friends besides her little sister. It’s such a relieve to read about a girl more like me than all those populair girls.
The story is refreshing and has a really unexpected twist. You won’t guess what’s going to happen  next. The book is well written and you really get the chance to get to know the main characters of the book. For me it was like living their lives at times. The story just sucked me in so much!

The verdict of a book addict:

An amazing book, with an amazing dark twist and a beautiful romance. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Review: Once in a full moon by Ellen Schreiber

Published 12/02/2011 by supernaturalreadingaddict

Title:               Once in a full moon
Author:           Ellen Schreiber
Pages:             292
Catagory:        Werewolves, Young Adult

The story:

Beware of a kiss under the full moon. It will change your life forever.

Celeste Parker is used to hearing scary stories about werewolves—Legend’s Run is famous for them. She’s used to everything in the small town until Brandon Maddox moves to Legend’s Run and Celeste finds herself immediately drawn to the handsome new student. But when, after an unnerving visit with a psychic, she encounters a pack of wolves and gorgeous, enigmatic Brandon, she must discover whether his transformation is more than legend or just a trick of the shadows in the moonlight.
Her best friends may never forgive her if she gives up her perfect boyfriend, Nash, for Brandon, who’s from the wrong side of town. But she can’t deny her attraction or the strong pull he has on her. Brandon may be Celeste’s hero, or he may be the most dangerous creature she could encounter in the woods of Legend’s Run.
Psychic predictions, generations-old secrets, a town divided, and the possibility of falling in love with a hot and heroic werewolf are the perfect formula for what happens . . . once in a full moon.

The view of a book addict:

This book is just as I expected, a good love story with a supernatural element. I love the way Ellen schreiber writes her stories, they’re not complicated and hard to read. You just fly over the pages of the book. Wanting to know what will happen, wil she get the boy or not? What’s happening in the town and how much of the legend is true? Those are the questions you want to see answered
The story moves along in a fast pace but you do get the time to learn about the characters. What I love about the story is that in real life you do know someone like the main characters and that makes them easy to love.

The verdict of a book addict:

It’s a fun and lovely story with supernatural elements, if you like the vampire kisses series you’ll love this one as well.

Young adult

Published 22/12/2010 by supernaturalreadingaddict

So most of the books I read are young adult novels, I like these books more then books for adults.
Young adult novels are much more fun to read, the prolbem I have with adult books is that they are to serious and most of the time they take themselves mucht to serious. Of course there are some exceptions.

But what kind of young adult do I read? Most of the time the books are about supernnatural things, think about Angels, Demons, Vampires, werewolves, etc. I’ll talk in later posts about the specific creatures. The reason I like these books more in the young adult genre is that they are les complicated. You can just pick a book up and read it without having to think about the story again, I don’t have to spend a long time thinking about what happened before. You just dive into the book and you’re immediatly sucked back into the story. I think the adult genre could learn from this genre. So most of the books I’ll review will be young adult novels.

Well that’s it for the first genre I love, next time I’ll dive into one of my favourtie creatures!
