Would you eat a strange new food that was designed by an extraterrestrial? Phil Zimmerman is faced with this question and more when Jake Sombrero, an alien scientist walks into his office. There are many things about Jake that Phil finds to be unsettling: his uncanny resemblance to Richard Simmons; his apparent lack of personal hygiene and nauseating stench; not to mention various other stomach-turning habits. Jake has come to genetically engineer a revolutionary new food source that will end world hunger on Earth. The question is, will anybody eat it?
The year is 2029. Earth has undergone a number of changes since the Great Dimensional Merge of 2014. Phil has been an Immigration officer since the 1970s, but now his job entails welcoming immigrants of a different sort. The definition of ‘Illegal Alien’ has definitely taken on a new meaning, and it’s Phil’s job to process new immigrants from the farthest corners of the Universe. He has seen it all, or at least he thinks he has, until Jake Sombrero walks into his office. Jake is an alien scientist from a highly advanced civilization, but there’s something about Jake that just doesn’t smell right..
The view of a book addict:
I had a lot of fun reading this book! Reading how the main character thought about the Alien that arrived at his immigration desk. People around me looked at me a couple of times because I was laughing out loud. At the ending like the main character I got a bit horrified about what was going to happen.
Don’t let yourself be fooled by the fact that it’s a science ficiton story because it’s more than that!
The verdict of a book addict:
To be honest this is the most fun I ever had reading a book. The story is funny but don’t be fooled it has a strange twist to it!
