The demon trappers: Forbidden

Jana Oliver

The story:

Riley’s beginning to think being a demon trapper isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Her dad’s been stolen by a necromancer, her boyfriend’s gone all weird and she’s getting warm and fuzzy feelings for someone who’s seriously bad news. It’s tempting to give it all up and try to be normal, but that’s not an option. Because the demons have plans for Riley. And they’re not the only ones

The view of a book addict:
I didn’t see the ending of this book coming and that’s just what made this book so good. When you read a lot there comes a point where you just know what’s going to happen next, but this book surprised me.
Just like the first book I loved the characters in this one, the old ones and the new ones. They all bring something to the story and they all keep you guessing about their motives. I really like Riley she is one of my favorite characters in a book. I can’t wait to read what’s going to happen next.

The verdict of a book addict:

What a great second book in a series, I can’t wait to read more about Riley and the others.

Why do I want to read this book?
I loved the first book in this series, so I wanted to order the second book right away. But I found out that I’ll have to wait for it because it isn’t released yet.

The demon trappers: Forsaken
Jana Oliver

The story:

Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she’s already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it’s tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated: Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who thinks he’s God’s gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her ass. One thing’s for sure – if she doesn’t keep her wits about her there’ll be hell to pay..

The view of a book addict:

I really wanted to read this book, because I haven’t read many demon books before. Most of the books I read have either werewolfs, zombies or vampires in them. I decided to buy this book after I read the summary and I don’t regret it. The story is amazing! You really get the chance to get to know the main character and all the characters around her in this book.
And you get a look in a future filled with demons, I can only hope that will never happen! I was on the edge of my seat most of te time and the lower class demons made me laugh once or twice. I loved the main character, I would love to be her for just one day because she just kicks butt.

The verdict of a book addict:

A great book, with scary demons and a great heroine. I can’t wait for the next book!

Theme Thursday #7

Published 26/05/2011 by supernaturalreadingaddict
Theme Thursdays

Theme Thursday is hosted by Reading Between Pages First here are the rules:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
The Theme this week is: Conversation:

“Don’t tell harper I did this. He’ll be pissed.”
Pissed because you were nice to me? that sucks. “Why is he such an idiot?”
“Don’t know.” He took the empty container and put it in the car. “You best get in there before he wakes up.”
As he turned away, she touched his arm. “Thanks, Simon.”
“Watch yourself, OK?” He said, his brow forrowed in worry.
“You too.”

Teaser Tuesday #17

Published 24/05/2011 by supernaturalreadingaddict
It’s Tuesday again so time for another Teaser Tuesday hosted by Should Be Reading! Here is how it works:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
And here is my Teaser for this week:

“Max?”The cat’s back rumpled in irritation at her voice, but he didn’t break his vigil. “you can’t eat it. It’ll make yousick. Allyour hait will fall out, then you’ll go into convulsions. Dead cat, get it?”
The feline growled in response. It was matched in volume by the demon’s warning hiss.
