Title:               Transistion ( The chimera hunters series )

Author:         Megan S. Johnston

Pages:             256

Catagory:      Fantasy

The story:

The Chimera are a race so old, the humans relegated them as a myth. The Gods feared the Chimeras’ powers; they believed they were a deadly race, with physical abilities beyond belief. So, they split their race in half condemning them to wander the earth, searching for their other half to be complete. Without their sodalis, each was destined to live life without dreams, without love, without hope. The future rested on finding their one true mate for life.

SHELBY O’NEIL has led a solitary life with her parents. So when she goes to school at Washington State University, she believes her life has just begun. Now in her second year, the dreams begin. She dreams with the same man, night after night for months. When her dream world becomes her reality, and her life becomes a danger zone, she quickly learns to trust the one man who has thrown her into this new and dangerous world.

DEVELON COLE is Chimera and his race has been on earth as long as humans. His people were desperate to find their one true mate for life, and Develon had just found his, in the small college town of Pullman Washington. His goal was to protect her against the hunter’s and guide her into who she was always destined to be, his sodalis, his mate

The view of a book addict:

The story of this book caught my eye, a story about ancient creautures is just my kind of thing I thought. And I was right, I loved the book and the story. I loved all the elements, the whole story of finding your soulmate is just beautiful. After all aren’t we all looking for our soulmate?

I really liked the writing style, it was easy to follow and moved a long at a steady pace. I really felt like you got the chance to get to know the characters of this story.

The verdict of a book addict:

A really great book, if you love stories about ancient creatures and finding your soulmate then this is your book.

Dual blogtour: Guest Post

Published 17/08/2012 by supernaturalreadingaddict

So as part of the dual blogtour for The unsacred gift and Transition: The chimera hunters series I have a guest post by the author of The unsacred gift C.S. Dorsey. I was scheduled for an interview but because I mixed the interview and review date up I got the chance to do a guest post. So here it is, enjoy reading it as much as I did:

Facts about the Setting

The locations for The Unsacred Gift are pretty well-known to me. Which is one of the reasons why I choose them. Seattle was the perfect place because not only have I been there several times since living in Washington (state) years ago, but the rainy weather and gloomy setting was perfect. I wanted to have a setting that would fit Sissy’s constant mood of feeling sad and lonely with her “gift.” So what better way to present that in the story.

When it was time for her to come home I had to defiantly settle on a spot where it was sunny, and what better setting than California. I choose California because not only am I from there, but I wanted her to be somewhere where the street where familiar to pin point the exact location of her sisters disappearance.

I also wanted to have a location that my friends and family could be familiar with as well. And since I have lived in Washington and California it was very easy for me to talk about the different shifts in climate change.

I have to admit, reading this guest post really makes me want to read the book! I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I did. Here is some more information about the author:

Follow Friday #9

Published 17/08/2012 by supernaturalreadingaddict

It’s Friday already!!! Time for another Follow Friday! Here’s this weeks question:

Q: What blogger inspires you? It can be any kind, it doesn’t have to be a book blog.

I think that would have to be the bloggers from Book Chick city, they inspired me to start my own blog. I visited their blog every day and one day I thought I want to do this. I want to make my own book blog. So who inspires you?

I’ve been a bit quit on my blog, the reason is simple: Work. It was so busy at work that I didn’t have much time to read or make blog posts. But I can’t miss a follow friday of course so here is this weeks question:

Q: What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?

Well I did start over because this is isn’t the original blog I started. Because I didn’t have any fun blogging anymore. I got so many review requests that I just didn’t have the time to read my own books anymore. So I decided to start a new blog but take the old posts with me because it would be a shame to lose them all.
So to answer the question I just wouldn’t accept so many review requests, because reading is something I do to relax and enjoy.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Review: Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris

Title:               Dead reckoning
Author:          Charlaine Harris
Pages:             335
category:      Urban fantasy

The story:

With her knack for being in trouble’s way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte’s, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his “child” Pam are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot-which is much more complicated than she knows..

The view of a book addict:

It took me some time to start reading this book, because I kept on waiting for the paperback version to come out here. I have to say that I didn’t like this book as much as the others. It’s still Sookie and I love her world but this book seems a bit boring in comparing to the other books. Sure there is a great fight in it but I didn’t feel the need to turn every page to find out what would be next.

It’s still a good book though, when you know you’re starting a Sookie Stackhouse book you know what to expect. The world Charlaine created in het books is amazing and although throughout the books you get to know a lot of characters it isn’t hard to follow the story line.
The verdict of a book addict:

Although it’s not my favourite book in the series, it’s still a good book .

Follow Friday #7

So here is another Friday, time for the follow friday fun!!

Today’s question is:

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

I always pick my book depending on what I feel like reading about, werewolves, zombies, vampires, etc. But I  never think I feel sad today so I’m going to read a certain type of book.
