Follow Friday #6

Published 27/07/2012 by supernaturalreadingaddict

It’s Friday again so time for some Friday fun!!!

Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?

I never had to read any books for school, well I needed to read books but not when it was summer vacation and there was never a list. I could choose my own books to read. So I can’t answer this question, but I can tell you what my favourite book was in highschool: Vampire kisses by Ellen Schreiber, I read the book in dutch first so I didn’t know there was a whole series. So I read the first book again and again. I still love this book today. I love Raven, she’s just so funny and a strong believe in vampires. I spend many night wishing I was her and had my own Alexander.

The view of a book addict:

This review is part of a blog tour, and reading the synopsis I just fell in love with the story. I love mythology and so this book spoke to me. And I’m glad to inform you that I loved the book! You get the chance to get to know the main character very well and experience every aspect of her life with her. I had the feeling I was Persephone while reading this book.

I loved the writing style, it moved in a fast pace and besides all the myths you got a glimpse of Persephone’s life before she finds out who she is and what she is capable of. It was great to meet all the gods and goddesses and I loved the feeling of being swepped away in a totally different world.

The verdict of a book addict:

An amazing book that will capture your heart and after reading the last sentence you can’t wait to read more about Persephone and her life. I can’t wait for the next book

Title:               Rapture
Author:          Lauren Kate
Pages:             448
Catagory:      Angels

The story:

The sky is dark with wings . . . .

Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.

Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.

For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.

In the fight for Luce, who will win?

The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer

The view of a book addict:

The last book in a series, always hard to read because you know there won’t be another story from these characters. I loved the first book in this series, I didn’t like the second book that much and the third book made it all better. And the last one…. Well let me just tell you that I didn’t see the ending comming. It really surprised me.

I loved the ending of this story, it felt good that it ended with this book. Of course I won’t tell you if they are able to brake the curse or if they end up togehter. I will tell you that  this is a must read if you’ve read the first books. It just all makes sense at the end of this book, and the story is great, it just never gives you the time to breath. Every chapter is full of action and you keep on reading.
The verdict of a book addict:

A great ending to a great series, although I will mis Luce and Daniel I feel like this was the perfect ending to this series.

Teaser Tuesday

Published 17/07/2012 by supernaturalreadingaddict

I just love teaser Tuesday, you get the chance to learn about other great books. Of course people can find out about the great books you’re reading yourself.
So here’s my teaser:

“Ready Luce?” Daniel’s arms wrapped around her just as Roland’s wrapped tight around Dee. Smoke ricocheted off the walls on the outside of the Patina, but Luce was having a hard time breathing through here sore, bruised neck.

Review: Siterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares

Published 13/07/2012 by supernaturalreadingaddict

Title:               Sisterhood Everlasting
Author:          Ann Brashares
Pages:             448
category:      Chicklit

The story:

Four friends
One sisterhood
Ten years later, the story continues

On the cusp of turning thirty, Tibby, Lena, Carmen, and Bridget are now living separate lives, out on their own. Yet despite having jobs and men that they love, each knows that something is missing: the closeness that once sustained them. Carmen is a successful actress in New York, engaged to be married, but misses her friends. Lena finds solace in her art, teaching in Rhode Island, but still thinks of Kostos and the road she didn’t take. Bridget lives with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, in San Francisco, and though a part of her wants to settle down, a bigger part can’t seem to shed her old restlessness. Then Tibby reaches out to bridge the distance, sending the others plane tickets for a reunion that they all breathlessly await. And indeed, it will change their lives forever—but in ways that none of them could ever have expected.

The view of a book addict:

I won this book on a website dedicated to chicklits. All I had to do was come up with an original question for the author and maybe you’ll win the book. So I was one of the lucky ones. I loved the sisterhood books, they were so much fun to read so I really wanted to read what happened to all of them.

This book didn’t dissapoint me, it’s sad, funny and a fast read. It wasn’t hard to get back into the storyline and I was dying to know what was in store for the friends in this book. A big tragedy that’s what’s happening. I won’t tell you what it is because you’ll have to find out for yourself.

The tragedy brings the girls back together and as you read on about their lives without each other you’ll notice that these girls just need to be together for a happy life. They are truly best friends forever! I loved the book and the storyline, it was easy to follow and the book had me turning pages quickly just to know what was going to happen next.
The verdict of a book addict:

A really great book in this series, maybe this will be the last one, but who knows?

Follow Friday #4

Published 13/07/2012 by supernaturalreadingaddict

So it’s Friday again, time for one of my favourite meme’s: Follow Friday!!!

And here’s the question:

Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

I wanted a place where I could find my reviews besides goodreads. I wanted a place for my own. So I decided it was time to get my own blog. I first started on blogspot and a couple of months ago I decided to move my blog to wordpress and start with a fresh name.
